Mimosa Tree
This mimosa tree (Albizia jubilissin) in Barra de Navidad, south of Puerto Vallarta, was the best specimen we saw in Mexico. It was the reference point for half the town: “cuando se lleguen al arbol grande, anda…” Sunset says mimosas are most attractive as multi-trunked specimens like this one, but I don’t think I’d ever really seen one big enough to know how right they are. This one spread across an entire intersection, a good seventy or eighty feet. A photo of the tree’s canopy is below.
